none other than the President himself. The first reaction I heard to this intrusion was "Why is he sticking his nose in to another countries business"? Given his deplorable track record over the last seven year, particularly over foreign policy, inflicting misery on millions, if he wants the U.K. to stay in, it's time for them to get out.
In 1975 the free Trade Area was set up with the title of the Common Market. At the time I viewed it as a kind of international socialism arrangement, whereby the countries that are vigilant and do well, support, the ones that choose to mismanage their economies and go broke. Witness Greece.
A recent flier distributed by the "Leave E.U. group" claims the monetary cost of staying in is 20 Billion Euros a year. That would buy a lot of Fish n Chips. Also that the U.K. is the fifth biggest in the World and buys more from E.U. than they buy from U.K. so there is a natural protection from potential trade barriers.
Why I wonder would the President want to visit U.K. to argue this issue. I will throw something out there most people will think is preposterous... What is his next objective ? We all like to move upwards when going forward and he is still a relatively young man. It's pretty hard to top the President of the United States.... How about President of the World.
But the World doesn't have a president... Not yet. Why is he sucking up to dictators like Castro of Cuba and terrorist regimes like Iran. Why was he so keen on economic deals in S.E.Asia. The possible break up of the European Market would be conflicting with this ideal.
The more you can group together countries and get a World understanding the closer you could come to a World Government.
He possibly will seek to head up the United Nations, for which he will be a shoo in given he has worked closer with them than his own Congress.
