Kmowing that mixing will increase the spread and loss of lives, for how many people will this now be their last Christmas. At least it is only one fith as many.as his original plan.
I live in a small city supposed to be in the highest tier, 4. Stay home, only go out for essentials etc... The other day I walked down into the city centra for my exersise allowance. I carry a coffee flask and settled down on a bench in the main pedestrian complex. There were so many people, many walking shoulder to shoulder, looked like they had never heard of social distancing., never mind a shut down. Eventually I sat with crossed legs and one leg straight out stuck up in the air. Got a few looks but it kept people 1 meter away from me.
We are now facing record deaths, 980 yesterday simply because the restrictions are too soft and are not enforced anyway. Yesterday Thailand reported 1 death, first in couple months. Now show 61 deaths from Covid for the whole pandemic. compared to U.K. over 70,000. Populations are similar. So for every one Thai death, 1,147 brits die in U.K.
Just showed on T.V. Aukland seeing in New Year with thousands watching the fireworks. They have been Covid free since Oct. We could have been the same here if they had just shut down for as long as it took. Sure the economy would have taken a huge hit, but with less damaage than the prolonged agony this policy is inflicting.
The hopes are the vaccines will fix the problem. But at the rate they are going, will take years to administer enough to make a substantial difference. So how else do you increase immunity ? Simple, keep everything loose and have more people catch the virus, along with vaccine reciipients to achieve herd immunity. The thousands of resulting deaths is just collateral damage.
