Over the next 4 decades we started a business together, bought a house, built a mansion, bought 2 more houses. Developed a large Landscape Co. and developed a lawn care Franchise Company with 12 Franchisees across Ontario.
He married during this time and they were blessed with two sons. At the turn of the millennium we parted amicably. Soon after he became very ill with throat cancer and so we became embroiled again. After four years he recovered and started a new career in real estate.
A couple of years later, age 68 after 2 heart attacks I returned to England, with the prognosis from my doctor that I may make it to 70 if I am careful
12 years later during our annual phone call on Gary's birthday June 29, I told him I was waiting for heart surgery. He quipped "When they open you up they will find a big heart in there"
Six months later I received a phone call from a friend in Canada, saying he had passes away. I had my op and it seems unbelievable he has passed on and I am still here. He was 12 years younger than me, this was not the way it was supposed to happen.
