I was there to see a young man named "Beer" I met some years ago. I always go to see him and take him on an outing or for a meal or grocery shopping. While we have maintained a friendly relationship we don,t have any sexual affiliation due to the fact he has elected to be a ladyboy. While I still feel affection, that is a sure fire turnoff for me in that area. He has worked up to some level of responsibility at the bar.
As we settled down for a drink, I noticed one young man showing guests to their seats and remarked "he is cute" Beer called him over, introduced "Sa" and ordered another drink. We got along very well so I invited him back to the hotel, which he accepted. Beer then suggested they both came back, which was a non starter. Unfortunately he became very insistent, requiring me to be very firm, which did not go down well.
This was a turning point in the vacation that had been a little disappointing and I noted in my notes "Jackpot"
We spent some quality time together, before saying farewell at 2.00 a.m. after agreeing to meet up the next evening.
Some of my meds instruct me to avoid too much sunshine, so that may have been a factor. Also the normal temperatures for Pattaya are around a pleasant 33 to 35C for a high. This trip the thermometer crept up to 42C. Previously I could cool off with a swim, but this time even the water was hot giving no relief. My doctor also advised, easy on the alcohol. Thailand is hardly the place to visit to avoid sunshine and alcohol. But where else in the World can you find such an array of beautiful friendly young men -wall to wall-.
The heat also discouraged me from taking the boat out to Koh Larn, for a day on one of their great beaches, and instead spending more time in the hotel. At least Fox News was available on the T.V. Used to be my favourite news channel until they took it off air in the U.K. (Too right wing). V channel also was a good watch with very good artists and music.

The following evening I met up with Sa again. I am very keen on blues music and checked on line for any blues clubs before coming down. There are a couple of bars on Walking Street that have good live music, but not pure blues. I had the address of a blues club in the North end of the city, so we hopped on a baht bus for the half hour ride. When we found the address, as is so often the case the place was closed.
After making some inquiries we located a nearby bar that was supposed to have carried on the blues tradition, but it was a small kind of run down bar and far from blues music.
So we headed back South to Walking street and took in one of the live bands there. Walking St. is pulsating till 4.00 or 5.00 in the morning, but we headed back to the hotel for a few hours sleep before Sa was to take a 7 hr. coach trip back to his home for three days.
On Tuesdays and Fridays they have a big market on South Pattaya Tai Rd. just a 10 min motorcycle ride from Boyztown. Stalls range from fruit, to clothing and anything you can imagine. In need of some shirts I dropped by to pick up some bargains. Across the road and down a little is a 4 or 5 story building full of electrical equipment, mobile phones, tablets etc. It is a very impressive display of cutting edge devices. Requiring an adapter for my laptop I found one for 100 Baht (£2).. The same unit in U.K. was £25.00
With Sa away for 3 days, I wondered where to go, maybe explore new possibilities this evening. But decided to play it safe and dropped in to the Cupidol bar to see if the young man was there I had met on my first night. He was so we spent the evening together and the following one also, which did not work out too well. I think the arrangement had become a little tedious.
The following day I went back to the Zing Hotel in Jomtien. I did not have a booking but was sure they would not be too busy this late in the season. Surprise surprise they where almost fully booked. I did get a room but was twice the price I paid last week and not poolside but up a level. This confirmed my sagacity of prebooking on line, for the best deals.
After a swim I prepped for the evening revelry. I phoned the cutie I had met there last week, when he shouted from across the street. But sadly I was not able to reach him, which was a downer as he had been lots of fun. So I headed down the 100 meters or so to the gay bars. As before there were scores of handsome young men, but most seemed disinterested. Eventually I did catch the eye of a sexy number with a baseball hat on backwards. He came back to the hotel and was quite exciting. But I did not feel too great so unable to capitalize on his aura.
He left before day break and later I noticed he had left his watch on the end table. When checking out I left a note at reception indicating I would bring the watch to him at his bar on Sat, then returned to Pattaya to await Sa's return.
He found me eating dinner, at my regular restaurant and after a long bus trip was ready for a good nap.
The following day, Saturday, was my last full day before flying home. We took the Baht bus out to Jomtien to visit the water park, but it was so warm even in the water.
On my last evening we went back out to Jomtien to find the young man that left his watch in the hotel room a couple of days earlier. The three of us sat down together for while, which was very pleasant and relaxing. The boys had a good chat in Thai (no doubt comparing notes about me) which was fine.
The following morning we took a taxi out to B.K.K. airport, had a meal and bid each other farewell
